Steering Where We Stare - a Note from Holly

By Holly Christy, Publisher January 5, 2021

Dry January.
Getting Your Steps In.
More Water.
Counting Calories.

If you're like me and my friends, and probably a whole lot of other people, some of these phrases are currently in your vocabulary. If you've made a new year's resolution to lose weight, cut your intake of sugar or processed foods, or move your body more then I applaud you! It's not easy.

Or maybe you're one of those people who chooses a single word to focus on for the year ahead. I've heard people in my circle throw a few around lately that sounded good: focus, play, give, freedom. A new year is a good time to think about how far we've come, where we want to go, and how to get there.

I don't usually do specific resolutions or words, but I did read something recently that keeps swirling in my head. I think it's a good lesson for me to remember this year:

"We will steer where we stare. So let’s watch what we fixate on. If we keep staring at the wrong things, we’ll go in wrong directions."
from Lysa TerKeurst It's Not Supposed to Be This Way

Whatever you're fixating on, may it lead you toward true joy in the new year. Here's to a happier, healthier 2021!

I'll see you out there -
Holly
